CHild Yoga
My child yoga sessions are a fun, engaging, and creative way for children to explore movement, relaxation, and mindfulness. Each session is carefully designed to encourage imagination, confidence, and well-being through a combination of storytelling, yoga poses (asanas), breathwork, and mindful moments.

My yoga sessions provide a positive, nurturing space where children can move, breathe, and connect with themselves in a playful and meaningful way. It’s the perfect opportunity for them to build confidence, develop mindfulness, and most importantly—have fun!

Why is mindfulness so important?
Yoga is all about joy and self-expression. My sessions are filled with laughter, movement, and playful interaction, making it an enjoyable experience for all children. Whether they’re stretching, balancing, or flowing through poses, the focus is always on having fun and feeling great.
Through simple mindfulness techniques, children learn how to tune into their bodies and emotions, helping them develop patience, kindness, and resilience. Whether it’s a moment of stillness, guided visualization, or gentle relaxation, these practices help children feel more calm and present in their daily lives.

What does a child yoga class look like?
Storytelling & Imagination
Yoga for children is all about bringing stories to life! Each session is themed around an exciting adventure, whether it's exploring the jungle, diving under the sea, or going on a magical journey. Through movement and play, children engage their imaginations while developing focus and coordination.

Asanas (Yoga Poses)
Children are introduced to a variety of yoga poses in a fun and accessible way. They might stretch like a cat, balance like a tree, or roar like a lion—all while building strength, flexibility, and coordination. These poses help develop body awareness, confidence, and a love for movement.

Breathwork & Relaxation
Simple breathing exercises teach children how to calm their minds and regulate their emotions. Through playful techniques like "blowing up a balloon" with deep breaths or "smelling a flower," they learn to manage stress, focus better, and feel more in control of their emotions.

Child yoga fosters healthy habits in children. It encourages a healthy lifestyle for the body and mind. Physically, there is improvement in their posture, flexibility, strength, balance and coordination. Mentally, it can improve self-esteem, confidence and acceptance. It also really helps to improve concentration in a playful way! This skill is invaluable as they embark on school life.

Anyone can do yoga!
Yoga really is for anyone! It is an absolute myth that you need to be super bendy or ultra flexible. Yoga is about what YOUR body can do - and the more you practice, the more you can do! There is no competition in our classes; it is all about listening to your body and stretching yourself, without worrying about what anyone else can do. Yoga can be particularly useful for children with learning difficulties, hyperactivity or stress.

Fun, FUn Fun!
I focus on fun at Grow Child! I truly believe the best way to learn is through fun experiences; I incorporate all the senses and bring a wealth of other subjects into each class. Children are encouraged to roar like a lion, snap like a crocodile and imagine different ice-cream flavours! We particularly enjoy it when Mr Bones makes an appearance...!
