Mother and Daughter Yoga

What does the class involve?

Welcome to my toddler sensory yoga classes. Each week, I explore a different theme, from the ocean to the rainforest to cuisines around the world. My classes are designed to engage your toddler's imagination with a range of toys and sensory play materials, while also incorporating basic yoga poses to get them moving and having fun. I also explore group poses, games, music, and even food to help your little ones learn, play, make friends, and have a great time.

Toddler Yoga

Looking for a fun and engaging activity for your little one? My toddler classes are the perfect solution! Designed for children aged 3-5, our classes provide a safe and nurturing environment for your child to learn and grow. Parents are welcome to stay for the first class, but I encourage children to thrive on their independence. Give yourself some much-needed "me" time while your child enjoys our exciting classes.

Family Yoga

Looking for a fun and healthy activity for the whole family? My family yoga classes are the perfect way to bond with your toddler while exploring the world together. Join me as we journey through the forest, ocean, or globe, and let your inner child come out to play. Each class is designed for one adult and one toddler, but there are options that allow additional family members to join in on the adventure.

What are the benefits?

Regulating emotions

It can be tough being a toddler! Wanting independence, but still needing much dependency this can make for some wobbly emotions. Yoga can be a great tool for toddlers to learn how to regulate their emotions and cope with stress. By becoming more aware of their breathing and emotions, they can develop skills that they can use throughout their lives. Give your little ones a head start in life by introducing them to yoga today!

Sleep

Toddlers still like to keep parents on their toes when it comes to sleep! Just when you think you have it sorted, your little one is waking you up at those less than fun hours again. Toddler yoga is a workout for the whole body and mind. These classes can help them to relax and in turn, help them to sleep better.

Exploring imaginations

There is nothing more fun than a toddler's imagination. We utilise this in our yoga classes by creating magical themes each week to explore. Whilst using this imagination, we are also learning about animals, science, numbers, our bodies, to name just a few of the educational benefits. Toddlers are also encouraged to share their ideas and we incorporate these into our classes too.

Playfulness and collaboration

Our themes have a variety of different foci to ensure we are developing the whole toddler. We explore different cultures as we fly around the world, we work with our friends as we practice different group poses and we encourage the expression of the inner child to really come out; let's roar like a lion or buzz like a bee. We love to play!

What if my toddler doesn't like being left?

It can be a little scary for toddlers to start a new class, and it is natural for them to want to be with a loved one when in a new environment. You may want to start with our family yoga so that they can get to know me and the environment, before moving to independent toddler classes. I am happy for parents to stay in their first independent class, but then tend to ask parents to try and leave them as this is the best way for them to learn and engage. Please be reassured that I always take parental contact information and if they are really unhappy, I would always contact you. I tend to find that after a few initial tears, some fun warm ups soon get their imaginations fired up and they are giggling away!

How can a toddler do yoga?

Toddler yoga is about movement and imagination. We will not be forcing their bodies into complex yoga poses! Instead we adapt traditional poses and make them into fun movements as part of our themes each week. Yoga is more than just poses; we also learn about the world around us, explore sensory games to nurture their development and work with our friends to develop connections. There is nothing better than the sound of the giggles from a class of toddlers as they try the connecting flower pose; legs in the air and hands together!

What should we bring?

All the toddlers need to bring is their imagination, a sense of fun and their curious minds. The equipment is provided for the toddlers, so all they need to do is turn up, ready for fun.
