  • Fun and exciting nursery sessions, that help pre-school children stretch their bodies, develop their motor skills and learn how to regulate emotions.

Partner with me to bring innovative and student-centered learning experiences into your nursery or school, supporting both physical and mental development.

What do nursery sessions look like?

My nursery yoga sessions are thoughtfully designed to support toddlers as they grow both physically and mentally. Each 30-minute session is usually limited to a group of up to 12 children, ensuring a safe and engaging experience tailored to their developmental needs.

Every session has an exciting theme to capture the children’s imaginations and keep them fully engaged. From an African safari to a farmyard adventure or a journey through world foods, these themes bring yoga to life, transforming each session into a fun exploration that children look forward to.

The principles of yoga are at the core of every session. We begin with simple breathing exercises, which help children learn to connect with their breath—a powerful tool for emotional regulation and managing the big feelings that toddlers often experience. As we move through gentle stretches and age-appropriate poses, children improve their flexibility, balance, and coordination while also stimulating their creativity and curiosity.

Throughout the session, we use songs, stories, and props to keep things lively and interactive. This approach not only makes the session fun but also fosters social skills and cooperation, allowing children to bond and grow together in a supportive environment.

We conclude with a calming relaxation exercise, giving children a moment to unwind, reflect, and experience a sense of calm before returning to their day.

What does a school session look like?

School sessions will depend on whether you are based in a primary or secondary school.

Primary School Yoga Sessions

Primary school workshops are designed alongside the national curriculum and can be tailored to a specific focus that you may want to cover.

For example, if you are studying the human body, I can bring Mr Bones along for a fascinating learning journey all about bones!

In primary school yoga, sessions are focused on introducing a fun exploration of movement that improves flexibility and core strength. Sessions are playfully structured, incorporating storytelling, imagination, and sensory props that connect with themes and topics your students are learning about. For example, if the theme is animals, children might “become” different creatures, exploring poses that imitate their movements.

Yoga at this age level helps children gain awareness of their own emotions and introduces them to simple breathing exercises that can calm and centre them.

Children are also introduced to basic mindfulness techniques in ways that feel like play, helping them to develop a sense of self-regulation and relaxation skills. Most importantly, these sessions are all about having FUN! A wide range of props are used, such as feathers, stuffed animals, and colourful mats, to make each session an engaging, joyful experience that children look forward to.

Secondary School Yoga Sessions

At the secondary school level, yoga sessions are adapted to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of teens. These sessions offer a structured but supportive environment where teens can explore yoga in a way that encourages growth and self-acceptance.

In secondary sessions, students are introduced to a wider range of yoga poses (asanas), which help them build physical strength, flexibility, and balance. Teens are encouraged to challenge themselves within a safe, nurturing environment, allowing them to feel a sense of accomplishment as they progress in their practice. The sessions also focus on breathing techniques and guided meditation, helping teens manage stress, increase focus, and cultivate a sense of calm.

Each class creates a space for teens to explore mindfulness, reflect, and connect with their own well-being, building resilience and confidence in a non-competitive setting. By the end of each session, teens often report feeling more relaxed, grounded, and ready to take on the challenges of their school life with a refreshed mindset.

These yoga sessions aim to empower students of all ages, offering tools that benefit both body and mind, and helping to foster a positive, supportive atmosphere within your school community.

Do your sessions support students who are neuro-diverse, or have additional needs?

Absolutely! Yoga is a powerful, adaptable practice that can support children and teens with a wide range of additional needs, and my sessions are fully inclusive.

Students may have different needs for a variety of reasons—some as a result of stress, trauma, or neglect, and others due to conditions present from birth, such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, or ADHD. Whether these needs are visible or not, yoga offers unique benefits to every child. In each session, we incorporate movement, music, breathing exercises, relaxation, and meditation to provide a balanced, supportive experience that meets diverse needs.

Yoga can be especially beneficial for those who experience difficulty focusing, managing emotions, or dealing with sensory challenges. Simple breathing exercises, or Pranayama, are introduced as tools that reduce stress and anxiety—skills that children can carry with them beyond the sessions to manage day-to-day challenges.

The structured yet flexible nature of yoga helps students with additional needs improve concentration, body awareness, and emotional regulation in a safe and nurturing environment.

Specific poses and movements are selected to encourage flexibility, balance, and relaxation. For example, gentle twists and stretches support spinal mobility, and inversions improve circulation and body awareness.

Meditation exercises, introduced in age-appropriate ways, offer moments of calm and focus that can be particularly helpful for students who may feel overwhelmed or overstimulated.

Each class is designed to create an inclusive, supportive space where students feel accepted and encouraged. I work closely with schools and parents to ensure I am aware of any specific needs before the session, so each student receives the best possible experience and support.

I strongly believe in creating an inclusive environment that reflects our wider society, where all children are celebrated and supported to thrive.
